Goals and objectives of the federation are: 1. To unite all Greek teachers who teach Greek in: our Community Schools, Day or Afternoon, Private Day or Afternoon and all other teachers and educators who love the Greek language, teach and support through public schools, writing, acting or otherwise have degrees in modern or classical Greek and love to maintain and perpetuate the language. 2. To discuss with all teachers the conditions and feelings of such work and find common grounds for better understanding. 3. To organize events in different states, in order to perpetuate our culture and traditions to the future generations. 4. To honor and recognize the work of all veteran teachers who worked for many years without any note of appreciation or justify salaries and the have dedicated their lives to the perpetuation and teaching our heritage. 5. To analyze their problems and work together with the Office of Education of the Greek Archdiocese, under the blessings of his Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and with the representatives of the Hellenic Republic, especially with the Ministry of Hellenic Education. 6. To seek for solutions throughout any possible domain and be part of SAE and other conferences and other meetings in Greece. 7. To bring awareness of the different opportunities which are available for training or promoting themselves in the field of teaching Greek as a second language. 8. To offer sense of confidence, understanding and cooperation between themselves and towards the Hellenic Community at large. 9. To secure and raise funds for our “Mutual Assistance Fund” so we can help students to continue their Greek education. Also to organize seminars for the teachers around the U.S.A. in cooperation with the local Metropolitans, Bishops and community leaders. 10. To work together with our large organizations, companies, parents and other members of the community so we can continue to teach the Greek language and our culture for the generations to come. 11. To organize events around the States so we can raise money for the project “Save the Hellenic Education”, to organize classes or help existing programs at the college and university level.
